The residual-current protective device
RCD-circuit interruptors have the task to disconnect the utilities (electric powered machines, appliances, lamps …) within 200 ms (0,2 seconds) switching of all poles, if owing to a fault a dangerous contact voltage occurs. Only the residual-current protective device is sufficiently sensitive in order to ensure the secure protection against harmful electric shocks!
